We Want 3 Houses in the Tower District

Worn porch floor on an older Fresno house before restoration

Updated October 2026 · By the Infinite Cash Home Buyers team

Quick answer

We’re buying three Tower District houses right now, as-is and for cash. The 1920s to 1940s bungalows, Spanish revivals and cottages near the Tower Theatre often have original wiring, galvanized pipes and raised foundations that scare off financed buyers. We’re a licensed general contractor and restore these homes with our own crews, so we pay for the character of the house, not just the lot.

What we’re looking for in the Tower District

The Tower District is one of the few parts of Fresno where the houses are older than most of the people living in them. Around Olive, Wishon, Van Ness and the Tower Theatre you get Craftsman and California bungalows, Spanish revivals with stucco and tile, and small cottages on narrow lots, most built between the 1920s and the 1940s. The 93728 ZIP is full of them.

That age is the appeal, and it’s also the problem. We walk Tower District houses with knob-and-tube wiring behind the plaster, galvanized supply lines that have closed down to a trickle, original raised foundations with settled piers, and additions from the 1970s that nobody pulled a permit for. A buyer using an FHA or conventional loan hears about half of that from their inspector and walks.

Who buys older homes in the Tower District?

Three kinds of buyers: owner-occupants who want a finished house, flippers who strip the character out to sell fast, and buyers like us.

Our approach is different because we’re a contractor first. When we buy an older Fresno house, our crew rewires it, repipes it, fixes the foundation and puts on a new roof, and we keep the built-ins, the arched doorways and the original windows where they can be saved. That’s why we can make a real offer on the house as it stands. We aren’t discounting it for the cost of gutting it.

What restoring an older Fresno house looks like

On an older Fresno house we bought in 2024, we tore out the broken tile floors, replaced the soft subfloor, and rebuilt the worn porch deck with new tile. The rooms got new drywall and plank flooring. The original shape of the house stayed the same.

Can I sell a Tower District house with knob-and-tube wiring?

Yes. You don’t need to rewire before you sell. Many insurers won’t write a new policy on active knob-and-tube, which is often what kills a financed sale. A cash buyer doesn’t need that policy approved to close. You disclose what you know, and we price the rewire into our offer at our crew’s cost.

FAQ

Will you tear the house down?

No. We restore older Fresno houses. The character is what makes them worth buying.

My parent lived there for 50 years and it’s full of belongings. Is that a problem?

No. Take what you want and leave the rest. Our crew handles the clean-out.

Do you buy houses with unpermitted additions?

Yes. We price the addition as it is. You disclose what you know about it, and you don’t have to legalize it before you sell.

How is this different from a flipper or a wholesaler?

We’re a direct buyer and a licensed general contractor (CSLB #1126804). We buy the house ourselves, our own crews do the work, and we never assign contracts. Here’s how to tell the difference.
